Bio Information and Publication Credits

Clyde, Ohio, where I grew up the daughter of artists, was the setting for Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio. That might explain why stories kidnapped me at such a young age.

A childhood of pretending to be Jessie James, gluing together model cars, and storytelling with the help of Barbie dolls wasn't enough to prepare me for Denison University. Still, I persevered and not only graduated but received a memorial scholarship as well. One successful divorce and many odd jobs later, I returned to campus at Bowling Green State University where I earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing.

In 1993 I received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grant, enabling me to finish None But the Dead and Dying, which was published in 1996 by Baskerville Publishers (to read excerpts, click the Books button on the left).

My short works have appeared in numerous periodicals and an anthology, and my nonfiction articles have also been widely published. Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Women, and Who's Who in Education have honored me by listing me.

Agents are considering Black Unicorn for representation while I draft novel number three, tentatively titled Tuxedo Union. I toil daily at Novations Learning Technologies, a company that produces corporate training for delivery over the Web -- where millions of people read my work daily, but never know I've been there.
