EllenBooks Travel -- Port Stanley, Ontario
This page has been completely updated! We recently visited Port Stanley again and several of the local businesses we frequent while there have relocated, so the images I've used in the past aren't accurate any longer.
When in Port Stanley, be sure to visit the Apropos shop and Killer Desserts (unless you need to avoid temptations of the sweetest kind!).
What you see here is current as of November 2007.
On our last two visits, we stayed at the Telegraph House, which is right on Main Street, facing the river. Jon and Vicci are fabulous hosts and their food is amazing!
Jon's a chef and Vicci a superb baker, which means that you can eat your way through your stay if you want. Start your day with a hearty breakfast (I had -- what else? -- the perch!) and follow it up with their tasty lunch. Or you can do what we did -- skip lunch and go right to afternoon pie and ice cream, saving the rest of our appetite for dinner at the Windjammer Inn.

Though we review a lot of restaurants on this site, we're not much for restaurant food, generally. So when we find a place we like, we become loyal to it. You know it says a lot when I say we ate at the Windjammer Inn every single night we were in Port Stanley.
The chef -- Kimberly -- uses ethically raised, organic products and her recipes are unique and memorable. I would be including here the usual specs about the menu, but I took my copy to work to share it with my foodie co-workers and there it sits.

Here are some views of this great "undiscovered gem" in the north side of Lake Erie!
